Our Workshop is hiring!

We have an opportunity to join our successful Tech team working on KTM here in Braintree. Primarily this is working on New bike preparation getting motorcycles ready for customer collection and our showroom, as well as fitting parts ordered for sale. Also likely to entail servicing and refurbishment of Used bikes. When skills, knowledge and ability have been built the role may also entail some routine servicing on customer bikes. We’re also a small and close-knit team so all staff cross-over between departments when the need arises to ensure customers receive the best possible experience.

Requirements: you will have successfully completed a Motorcycle Technician course and/or had experience working in a similar role at another dealership. You should be a motorcycle rider with or with the intention to gain full licence. Computer literate, focused and a self-starter who can work well within a team and deliver work to a consistent high quality.

Key responsibilities:

Provide a warm welcome to our customers whether visiting in person or on the telephone. Understand their requirements, help and advise them where appropriate and/or pass them to the appropriate person or department.

Systematically follow KTM guidelines for New bike PDI and parts fitting. Deliver work to a standard that exceeds customer expectations whilst keeping costs and time under control. Look for the most effective way to complete a task and remain focused on it.

Work on preparing our Used bikes as directed. Follow the brief and budget given, and seek to get the job done in the most effective way.

Keep accurate Job records and take ownership of your jobs from start to finish. Keep your customers/manager informed if situations change and make sure their expectations (price, timeframe and quality) are realistic.

Complete KTM online courses and other training modules in the required timeframe. Proactively gain relevant knowledge to do your job well.

Work in a safe, tidy and organised way. Use machinery only as trained and the prescribed safety equipment when using them.

Occasionally attend external events/shows. During quieter periods work in other areas of the business as requested.
